Bridging the gap between theory and practice

Today marks the start of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) – an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of apprentices around the country and the positive impact they make on communities, businesses, and the wider economy.

At exigere, we are committed to education and continuous development, and to nurturing the talent who will go on to shape the future of our industry. Apprenticeships offer a rich diversity and new perspectives which allows us to develop the skills and quality of our work, helping enrich our business from the ground up.

Currently, we have six apprentices – Conal Cassidy, Dan Chapman, Teigue McAuliffe, George Monk, Alfie Rowlands and Maddie Silvester – working across our London office. Assistant surveyor, Teigue McAuliffe, who is currently taking part in the Quantity Surveying apprenticeship programme, shares some thoughts –

“Undertaking an apprenticeship has allowed me to go to university whist at the same time gain experience on the job. This is really valuable because there is a tangible outcome and I can visibly see the results of my work.

“I would encourage anyone thinking about doing an apprenticeship to spend some time researching the industry you want to work in beforehand. Look at different companies across the industry, get an understanding of what they have to offer and assess what you think will be the best fit for you.”

If you're interested in joining our dynamic, award-winning team as part of our apprenticeship programme, please get in touch - careers@exigere.co.uk.
