& Hobbs building has undergone an extensive transformation from a
Grade II-listed listed department store to a contemporary mix of retail, leisure and
workspace.
Spanning seven floors, Stiff + Trevillion’s reimagination of this icon celebrates its unique history whilst equipping its tenants for modern-day work, rest and play. The building showcases exceptional conservation of its Grade II-listed heritage, transforming it into a vibrant mixed-use space, revealing hidden gems such as barrel-vaulted glass ceilings, and original radiators and doors.
The redevelopment of the site involved structural repairs and selective internal demolition to enhance the space, complemented by a modern rooftop extension set back from the original façade.
