Faryners House
Bringing new life to one of London's most historic sites
- Location City of London
- Size 148,000 sq ft
Situated on the historic site of the bakery where the Great Fire of London is believed to have begun, this redevelopment breathes new life into a prominent City location while celebrating its unique heritage. The project replaces a 1970s office building with a contemporary 10-storey workplace, delivering high-quality office accommodation designed to meet the needs of modern occupiers.
A key aspect of the scheme is its commitment to enhancing both the workplace experience and the wider public realm. Alongside upgraded office space, the development includes a dedicated visitor centre that provides an opportunity to engage with the site's rich history and its significance within the story of London.
The redevelopment also reintroduces the surrounding piazza, transforming the setting into a more open, accessible and welcoming public space. By improving connectivity, encouraging pedestrian movement and creating opportunities for gathering and interaction, the scheme strengthens the relationship between the building and the surrounding city while contributing to a more vibrant urban environment.
